Now you should be able to turn on edit mode (esc) and enter
notes, as well as changing instrument (shift right) and tracks
(cursor right until the cursor is in the next column).
Thsi issue we're actually going to make a module. To see what it
should finally sound like, load up the module on this issue's
support disk (or wherever it is) and click on Play Song.
After you've listened, select Song-->New from ythe pull down
menus. Click on Clear Song Only and you'll have a blank song,
but with the instruments pre loaded. First of all, we'll enter a
drum track in Track 0 (the leftmost one). Ensure the cursor is
in the correct track, then press Escape to turn on edit mode.
Now select instrukment 1 (use Shift+cursor left to make sure)
then enter the following...@4

Continue to the end of the block.
Next, select Block-->New-->Append then Block-->Copy from the Pull
Down menus. Move to instrument 5, then press Shift and Down to
move to the next block. It is empty, so use Block-->Paste to put
the drum track into it. Move to Track 1 (the second from the
left) and enter the following notes.

Now you have 3 independent blocks of music, we have to put them
into the song. Selct from the upper panel the Sg button and a
small window will open with numbers in it. There is a
highlighted bar reading 000 - this is the first entry in the play
list. You simply add the numbers of the blocks you want to play
to the end of this sequence to make a song.
Click just below the bar's position and press the little right
facing arrow gadget insude the window twice. It should read 001.
Click below this and put in another 001, then 002, 002, 001, 001,
000. Once this has been done, close the window and click on Play
Song. Amazing - your own music!
To save the music select Song-->Save and then type the name and
path into the box at the top of the window or click the gadget
for a file requester. Select the ST Song radio gadget on the
right then click on Save and your music will be saved!

That is the basis of Tracker music - make a block, fill it with
notes then make another block and so on. String them together in
the right order and you've made a tune. It's as simple as that.
Next issue, I will explain the player commands that AMOS supports
and how to use them in your modules.
